VIMA LAMURA​

​

Vima Lamura is a vocalist, composer, inspirational speaker, and writer–poet whose creative

works in music, sound, and storytelling have touched and transformed audiences internationally.

Her music moves from deep meditative tones to rich, classical, ambient, and orchestral

soundscapes. With a four-octave range, she colors melodies with an otherworldly,

transcendent quality.

Vima’s early singing career flowed through many genres: classical, jazz, global, and R&B, while

she was simultaneously immersing herself in sacred sound: mantra, chant, and music from

spiritual traditions. After experiencing two near-death events, her relationship to music changed

profoundly. Sound became medicine. She began using tone, vibration, and voice to help heal

physical injury, emotional pain, and mental exhaustion.

For her, spirit and science met in sound.

 

Drawn to classical roots and inspired by East Indian, Middle Eastern, Taoist, Tibetan, and

African musical traditions, Vima immersed herself in Meditation and ancient sound teachings.

Studying with Taoist and Tibetan teachers, she learned harmonic/multi-toned vocalizing, which

opened a new dimension of awareness about the healing power of the voice,  vibration and

its power to transform consciousness.

From this integration of study, practice, and lived healing, Vima began creating full musical

experiences, concerts, operas, and performances, combining unique stringed instruments,

indigenous percussion, choral compositions, and meditative voice.

 

This eventually evolved into her creating the Sound Mandala Orchestra

and Sound Mandala Choir.

To share this work more widely, she founded Sound Mandala Peace Garden, a platform and

sanctuary dedicated to offering healing music and sound experiences to all communities.

Vima continues to inspire people into deeper experiences of consciousness, energy, vibration,

and frequency through sound, music, writings, and meditation.
